Go Puja at Sri Mayapur International School

By HG. Rama Lakshman Das

On 31st January 31, 2018, on the auspicious occasion of Purnima devotees representing IDVM-India  organized a Go puja in the boys campus. At 8.00 o’clock Ramalakshman prabhu went to the Goshala and with the help of Bhavasindhu Prabhu and the “Gopalas” herded the bulls to the boys’ campus in Sri Mayapur International School (SMIS).

H.G. Kishora Krishna Prabhu, who is based in Indonesia and travels extensively to countries like Malaysia, Cambodia and different Islands in Indonesia to preach the importance of organic farming and cow care, was fortunately in Mayapur to attend ILS-18. We invited him to give a short presentation and also shared a few of his experiences and realizations. During his presentation he mentioned that if we serve cows they have the potency to absorb the negative energy from the human beings who are serving them and make them healthy and happy. One of the school boys was excited to know of this benefit by serving mother cow!

After the presentation the boys were delighted to see their Principal, H.G. Ajaya mataji, joining the worshiping of Cow. H.G. Kishora Krishna Prabhu started Go puja by blowing the conch and Harinam Prabhu led the kirtan. The boys and few teachers joined in the event.  At the end of the ceremony Ajaya mataji, Harinam Prabhu and all the boys started feeding the bulls with green grass.

Finally, H.G. Ajaya mataji thanked H.H. Bhakti Raghava Swami and his team for reintroducing the worship of cow and they are looking forward to organize this festival on every Purnima at the SMIS. They were happy and delighted to see the bulls visiting the school campus to bring auspiciousness. While we were leaving Harinam Prabhu invited Kishora Prabhu and Kumudaksha Prabhu to visit their small vegetable garden that they started one month ago.

IDVM-India extends its heartfelt gratitude to H.G. Ajaya mataji, SMIS principal, Harinam Prabhu, Doyal Mukunda Prabhu and Mayapur Goshala staff for their kind support.

“Gods gifted professions for mankind are agriculture and cow protection.” (Light of Bhagavata verse 9).
