A two day seminar “Jaago Kisaan” was organised at ISKCON Vrindavan Gaushala, Raman Reti on 26th & 27th of August 2017. The seminar focused on cow based agriculture, cow protection and benefits of Panchagavya.

The seminar started with the speech of Katha Vyas Krishna Murari Shastriji. He glorified various beneficial aspects of Gaumata and appreciated the ISKCON BLISS’s 2-acre farm project. While doing so, he promised to directly involve himself in this project.

His Grace Vamana Dev Prabhu (ACBSP) from US, who was a part of the New Vrindavan Farm Project (US) in 1970, appreciated the endeavour of ISKCON Vrindavan and agreed to share his past experiences to execute this project.

The chief guest, Dr. S. K. Malik (Chief Veterinary officer – Mathura) expressed his heartiest congratulation to the Director of ISKCON BLISS farm project for its initiative to execute this unique 2 acre farm project. He committed to guide and provide government help for preserving the lost local indigenous breeds of cows of this region like Haryanavi and Sahiwal, which is one of the most important part of the 2 acre farm project.

Dr. Renu Gupta, famous Nutritionist (Germany) was overwhelmed with the concept and development of this project. As part of her contribution to this project she offered to enrich the farm’s soil by “Neem Khali”, her latest research work.

Dr. Mohit Joon, who has many years of experience on Gaupathy, demonstrated making of Panchagavya and various cow products which can be made from the cows on the 2-acre farm project. He also happily agreed to involve directly by sharing his knowledge & experiences on the aspect of cow protection under the 2-acre farm project.

The project titled “Make Vrindavan Village”, an initiative of ISKCON BLISS, plans to change 1500 villages, provide shelter to 1,50,000 cows and 1.8 crore trees. Through the unique 2 acre farm project, the street cows will be saved by sending them to farmers. The farmers would utilise the cow dung and cow urine for cow based agriculture, production of biogas, fertilisers, cosmetics etc. Plantation of trees and cultivation of fodder in cow grazing land will not only provide fodder, but will also help in saving the environment. Low ground level water issues will be addressed by methods of drip irrigation and rain water harvesting. The project also helps in the preservation of natural seeds by encouraging the farmers to use them. It will also help in bringing the young generation back to the villages by giving them employment opportunities related to cow based agriculture.

The seminar was concluded by the prominent cow based agriculture expert Sri Lokeshji. He demonstrated the techniques of making natural compost (Jaivik Khad) like Ghanajivamrita from cow dung & urine from indigenous Indian cows.
