Under the able leadership for HG Hari Kirtan das and with the help of local devotees serving at Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balarama Ksetra (SSKBK), the 2019 Sahyadri Varnasrama College Module 1 was duly inaugurated on January 17.
Most students come from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States, and before beginning their courses, in keeping with the traditional custom, they took blessings from Udupi Krishna in the town of Udupi. A small sized replica of Udupi Krishna and Balarama graces the altar at SSKBK where one can receive Their daily darshan.
On the very first day of the Varnasrama College, as part of the Orientation program for newcomers especially, the students were treated to a refreshing dip in the small branch of the Sita Nadi River that flows close to the Campus.
Daily, the students perform the early Mangala Aratik and after greeting the Deities at 7:00 AM, they circumambulate the temple with the Murti of Srila Prabhupada followed by Gurupuja and Srimad Bhagavatam class.
Some visiting Faculty will be coming in the days to come, in particular, HG Guru Gauranga das, a Yoga Teacher whose studio is I. Bangalore and Jonson from Malaysia, an ardent advocate of traditional education and the simple Vedic lifestyle.
Also visiting from ISKCON Pune is Brahmacari HG Srinath das, himself a Youth preacher for many years and a frequent visitor to SSKBK always eager to learn and to serve.
