Nowadays, we have about thirty five goshalas around Indonesia. They protect about seventy cows. As we know, we hold Go-Puja every purnima. It is conducted to make the world auspicious. One of all the goshalas is Sri Radha Govinda Surabhi Goshala. The Goshala is located in Puncak Bogor. This is the oldest goshala and ISKCON temple in Indonesia.
Sri Radha-Govinda Surabhi Goshala was build in 1984. Ex-President of Republic Indonesia once donated a cow to the Goshala. A few of the cows have protected and passed away in this Goshala. Until now, there are five cows have been protecting at the Goshala. Fortunately, I could visit this Goshala.
I learned to take Go-seva there. The cows are taken a bath three times a day. One of all the cows gives milk. The dovetees take the milk twice a day. It is in the morning and in the afternoon. They get about three liters milk every day for Puja, Abhiseka, and offering. They also have a outdoor Goshala in front of the indoor Goshala. The outdoor Goshala is used to herd the cows. Every morning, the devotees bring the cows to the outdoor goshala. After that, they will be back to the indoor goshala in the afternoon. The devotees also use the cow dung for organic manure.
There is an area for gardening. The devotees plant vegetables and fruits. They only use cow dung for the manure. The vegetables and fruit trees are growing nicely. It is so amazing. In fact, they could get great result by cow dung manure. It is one of many advantages of the cow.
