Gau Gram Yatra reaches 108 Villages

Devotees of the ISKCON Daiva Varnasrama Ministry (IDVM-India) successfully reached their target of 108 Villages on December 31st by visiting Gollur Village in the State of Telangana. His Holiness Veda Vyasa Priya Maharaja graced the occasion for this last village program. One of the special features of this program was an elaborate offering to Their Lordships Sri Sri Gaura Nitai as can be seen by the bhoga placed on the altar. Maharaja led an ecstatic Kirtan inspiring all to participate. As in other outreach village programs the devotees distributed books and Krsna Prasadam to all who attended. This officially ends the Ministry’s initiative, the Sri Govind Gau Gram Prachar Yatra commemorating ISKCON’s Golden Jubilee year of 2016. The village initiative was taken up to help fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s desire to preach in the remote and not so remote villages of India wherein lies the roots of the Vedic culture. Specifically the outreach focused on enrolling participants as members of two distinct but related programs: 1) Nama Hatta Sanga, addressing everyone’s spiritual sva-dharma of devotional service and 2) Krishi Go Rakshya Sanga addressing everyone’s material sva-dharma of protecting our two mothers, land and cows. Congratulations to all who made this possible.
