Cow Based Multilayer Farming Training at Kamyavan

The OM Sri Surabhi Campaign organized a two-day training on Cow Based Multilayer farming from October 19-20, 2019 at Kamyavan farm, Sadashivapet, Hyderabad.

The training was facilitated by Akash Chaurasia, a multiple award winning farmer from Sagar District in Madhya Pradesh, India. He is popular for using traditional farming techniques like organic agriculture and multi-layer agriculture.

The trainees included:

  1. Organic Farmers
  2. Aspiring farmers
  3. Software Engineers
  4. Business people
  5. Local farmers with practical on-field training

On the first day more than 250 people attended the program. Hari Kirtan prabhu, Director for Village Development of IDVM – India, gave introduction to OM Sri Surabhi Campaign and explained the importance of community living.

On the second day more than 150 people including farmers from 5 states such as Maharashtra, Orissa, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh, attended the program.  The program started with the performance of Go-puja to invoke global auspiciousness and was followed by a short speech by Sri Rama das on the importance of cow worship. In his address, he also requested the audience to do Go-puja every purnima.

By the end of the program we distributed 150 Srila Prabhupada books, 1 Srimad Bhagavatam set, 20 Varnasrams books including 12 Make Vrindavan Villages in Telugu, 7 Amsu jackets, 200 packets of desi seeds and full plates of Prasadam for everybody.

Everyone appreciated our efforts and wanted us to conduct more such programs in the future.
