Punyakoti Training

By: HG. Ramalakshman Das

On June 7, 2019, in afternoon hours, I received a message from H.H, Bhakti Raghava Swami instructing that a course be organised on making Cow products at Punyakoti Gaushala located at ‘Petri’ starting from 8th -10th of the same month.

The training started with an introduction of all the participants. H.G. Bhakti Bhushan Prabhu explained the purpose to organise the three-day training camp. He emphasized that the objective was neither to make money nor to treat patients but to serve and take care of mother Surabhi by society. He then went on to explain and demonstrate various preparations using panchagavya ingredients. He started with the preparation of dantamanjan (tooth powder). In the break, we were served with very delicious lunch prasadam. After a short break, we resumed the next session. This time we started with making dhoop sticks and many such products. Then we dispersed for the day.

Next day soon after our morning prayers, the second-day session started. On the day, he focused on making soap and other cosmetic products. In the post-break session, he taught us to make Angamardan Tailam (body massage oil).

One of the participants related the first-hand miraculous effect of the angamardan tailam on his wife. Apparently, a year ago his wife had a slip disc problem, resulting in excruciating pain in the lower back. They consulted one of the best orthopaedicians. After going through the scans even he suggested for surgery. The family members asked the percentage of her recovery. The doctor replied that it was only two percent. The husband asked surgeon the consequence in the event of the failure of the surgery. The surgeon replied, “She will be alive, but will be lying on the bed for the rest of her life.”This was a scary scenario and they decided not to go for the surgery. At this juncture, by Krishna’s arrangement they happened to meet Bhakti Bhushan Prabhu in one of the camps that he had organised in Bangalore. Bhakti Bhushan prabhu gave this oil with additional herbs added to it with necessary instructions related to its application. It cost only sixty rupees.

Miraculously the lady who had been confined to the bed because of severe pain slowly returned to normalcy. Just after four days of its application, the patient lady woke up in the morning and after attending nature’s call and shower, she resumed her household chores of cooking etc. After some time when her husband woke up, he was surprised to see his wife busy cooking in the kitchen.

On day third day, the training started at 8 am. The training included the study of the preparation of a few more products. In the evening during the closing ceremony, Ganesh Nayak who is the trust president of Punyakoti goshala gave a short presentation and thanked all the participants for attending the three-day training program. He also shared his desire to organise more such similar camps in different places in future. On Bhakti Bhashan Prabhu’s request, I briefed the audience about our project at Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balarama Kshetra, Hebri. I also gave a short presentation on OM Sri Surabhi Campaign, a twelve-year campaign for the protection of our Mother Surabhi cow. I also introduced the Surabhi app, which is free and can be easily downloaded from Google play store or Apple store.

Next day while I was in our ashram, at 11 a.m. Srijiva pr informed me that some guests had come to speak to me. So, I went to our guest house. To my surprise, six people (who had also attended the Punyakoti training ) had come there in two different cars. After exchanging greetings, I served them with buttermilk and took them on a farm tour. I showed them our cottages built using lime, sand and jaggery as binding material. Later, I took them to our vegetable garden and explained to them about  “permanent raised beds”. I also showed them the different fruit trees. Selvarajan, whose wife had slip disc pain and had got cured was also one of the visitors. All of them felt very impressed and inspired by our cow care and cottages. He requested us to share the formula for making the binding material, of the bull driven ‘Ghani’, and of using lime. All of them felt so happy that while leaving they said that in the near future again they would like to visit our farm and spend more time.
