Wealth from Cow based farming from Kamyavan

By: Vishnurata das
Based on information from Sri Ram das

Just like the inhabitants on Vrindavana Dham 5,000 years ago, simply by grazing their cows on the land, the land was able to produce whatever necessity required in their lives. The land gets her life when in contact with the cows.

No chemicals, no pest control, no urea, no DAP, not even jeewamrutam. All we did was just grazed the cows in our land and put desi seeds: Apart from sowing seeds and grazing the cows nothing was done. All glories to mother cows and all glories to Lord Krishna’s nature. We just harvested this much Green moong dal with less labor and capital” explained Sri Ram das.

This is actually an ancient science that was practiced by our ancestors to meet their livelihood. The wealth was measured by how much land and how many cows that one has. The more land and cows one has, the more grains and other food stuffs were produced.

But unfortunately the modern way of farming is very destructive toward mother nature. Using chemicals and mechanization are the two ways of slaughtering both the lives of mother land and mother cows. Chemical is reducing the fertility of the land and using machine in stead of bulls is a way to send the innocent bulls to the slaughter houses.

When these demoniac practices are continued, naturally the earth will feel reluctant to give some grains for the sinful human. “…the earth can produce sufficiently if everything is properly arranged, but sometimes the earth can refuse to produce food grains for various reasons. The theory that there is a scarcity of food grains due to an increase of population is not a very sound theory…” (Srila Prabhupada’s purport on Srimad Bhagavatam 4.17.13)

We wish to develop more projects such as kamyavan farm to make some revolution and show to the world that the perfect combination of mother earth and mother cows is a precious gift of the Lord.
