IDVM-India, through its various village outreach programs and other initiatives such as Youth Summer Camps and Varnasrama Colleges, is endeavouring to revive the ancient system of Gurukula.
Young boys are trained in various arts and sciences and often get to participate in village outreach programs. This preaching endeavour has been on-going for the past 10 years under the leadership of Hari Kirtan prabhu, National Director of Rural Development for IDVM-India. As students graduate from their years of Gurukula training, they continue to serve in various projects that promote the varnasrama ideology of simple living and high thinking.
The boys shown here are fortunate to receive such training with the blessings of their parents who often will themselves participate in village outreach programs. Some of the boys have recently joined while others have already been in training for over 8 years.
