Upon the call given by OM Sri Surabhi Campaign & H.H. Bhakti Raghava Swami, Minister for IDVM- India, Go Puja was conducted on the auspicious occasion of Gopastami at Vishvamangala Gaushala, situated in Somaram Village of Medchal, Hyderabad, in the state of newly formed Telangana of South India.
A group of philanthropists & social activists concerned about the current state of affair of the Villages in India in general and the pitiable state of Farmers and Mother cow in particular have recognized the urgent needs to save the Villages and Mother Cow to save the Nation, the crux of the matter is Villages are the soul of the nation, where as farmer is the soul of the Village and Cow is the soul of the farmer so National Development is not at all possible without protection the cows, framer and villages.
Vishvamangala Gaushala is run under the auspices of Gou Grama Vikas Seva Samithi, a charitable NGO started 4 years back, with an objective of rural development through Cow based economy.
Vishvamangala Gaushala was set up on a 3 acre land about 35 Km from the city of Hyderabad with a initial funding of Rs. 75 lakhs. The primary task of the Gaushala is to preserve the local breeds of Cows and to demonstrate to the farmers that cow is provider of all wealth & resources, not a burden to the farmer.
Vishvamangala Gaushala has about 45 cows and calf’s of pure Indian Breed Zebu / Bos Indicus whose Urine and Dung has unique medicinal & curative proprieties.
Regular training is provided to the farmers on how to use cow urine & dung to prepare various panchagavya products for human health, cosmetics & also for agricultural purposes such as manure and pest repellents.
Farmers trained at Vishvamangala Gaushala is encouraged to keep cows and make Panchagavya products by with they earn very lucrative income by selling these cow products.
Vishvamangala Gaushala supports the call given by IDVM – India for OM Sri Surabhi Campaign to reinstate Mother Cow in her full glory as Mother of Universe and that only by protecting Cows and its progeny that the world can be protected from the holocaust caused by the so called modern civilization.
In spite Gopastami falling on a working day, about 60 Gou Bhaktas have gathered at Vishvamangala Gaushala to perform Gou Puja and to take pledge to protect cow under all circumstance. Also Gopastami falls in the month of Kartika and it is considered very auspicious to go to Vana (forest) to worship and take Prasad in the forest that is very popularly celebrated as “Vana Bojanam” in Telugu speaking States. What better Vana Bhojanam can one have than among cows on the most auspicious day of Gopastami, the day that marks the graduation ceremony of Lord Krishna taking cows for grazing in the Vanas (forests) of Vrindavan?
The Program was attended by the President Sri Durga Reddy & Sri Ramamurthy Bhat the land donors, and several other Industrialists and Gau Bhaktas along with their families.
The Gau Bhaktas were blessed with grace & presence of H.G. Hansavatra Prabhu who studied under late HG Gopiparanadhana Prabhu at Srimad-Bhagavat Vidyapitham, a Sanskrit Language school at Govardhan, in Braja.
